Electrolux Platform
Description
Development/maintenance of an order management and payment platform. The platform provides backend payment processing, an order management platform with support for backoffice operation, and consumer facing checkout modules.
Scale
The platform is a large-scale distributed solution operating across multiple geographic regions. It is based on a highly modular architecture composed of numerous interconnected services, designed to support high transaction volumes, continuous expansion, and the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams within a complex enterprise environment.
Complexity
The project involved the design, development, and maintenance of a large-scale enterprise platform with demanding requirements in terms of scalability, reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability. Particular attention was given to integrating heterogeneous systems, supporting continuous platform evolution, and ensuring operational resilience across a distributed ecosystem. The engagement also required close collaboration between multidisciplinary teams, the adoption of modern software engineering practices, and a strong focus on software quality, automation, and efficient delivery processes.
Level of engagement
Beatbridge contributed throughout the entire software lifecycle, from solution design and architecture definition to implementation, deployment, monitoring, and long-term maintenance. The engagement included designing scalable solutions, developing and integrating application components, supporting automation and quality assurance processes, and ensuring the continuous evolution, reliability, and performance of the platform through close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Technologies
The project adopted a balanced approach between using ready-made solutions and developing custom components, based on the specific requirements for system scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
In general, preference was given to self-hosted or internally developed solutions in order to maintain a high level of control over the architecture, data flows, and integration processes. This approach allowed services to be tailored to the needs of the application domain, ensuring maximum evolutionary flexibility and precise performance optimization.
At the same time, external technologies and ready-made components were integrated, such as monitoring, logging, orchestration, and containerization systems, whenever provider support, service reliability, or overall maintenance costs (in terms of man-hours) justified their adoption.
